Scheduled Maintenance Service in Arvada, CO
Your car has a maintenance schedule in the owner's manual. Most people ignore it until something breaks. The 30K, 60K, and 90K services exist to replace fluids and components before they fail — and doing them at an independent shop like ours costs a fraction of the dealership price while keeping your warranty valid.
What's Involved
Each interval has a list of items based on your manufacturer's recommendations. We follow the factory schedule, not a made-up "dealer recommended" list designed to upsell.
- 30,000 miles: Oil change, air filter, cabin filter, tire rotation, brake inspection, fluid top-off, multi-point inspection
- 60,000 miles: Everything in the 30K, plus transmission fluid, brake fluid flush, coolant flush, spark plugs (if due), and drive belt inspection
- 90,000 miles: Everything in the 60K, plus more thorough inspection of suspension, exhaust, fuel system, and timing belt assessment (if applicable)
We also do walnut blasting for direct-injection engines — GDI engines (common on Ford EcoBoost, BMW turbos, Hyundai 2.0T, VW/Audi TSI) build up carbon on the intake valves because there's no fuel washing over them. We blast the carbon off with crushed walnut shell media, restoring airflow and cleaning up misfires, rough idle, and power loss.
Fluid services include power steering flush, differential fluid changes, transfer case fluid, and brake fluid — all items that get skipped and then cause expensive failures down the road.
Signs You're Due for Maintenance
- Maintenance reminder light or service interval indicator on the dash
- You've hit 30K, 60K, 90K, or 105K miles without a major service
- Rough idle, hesitation, or loss of power on a direct-injection engine (carbon buildup)
- Dark or burnt-smelling transmission fluid
- You bought the car used and aren't sure what's been done
Why It Matters
Maintenance is cheaper than repair. A coolant flush costs $120-$180. A water pump and thermostat replacement because the old coolant corroded the impeller costs $600-$1,000. A transmission fluid change costs $150-$300. A transmission rebuild costs $3,000-$5,000. Every maintenance item on the schedule exists because the alternative is a bigger bill later.
If your car is under warranty, you need to follow the maintenance schedule to keep it valid. The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act says you don't have to go to the dealer — an independent shop can do the work and your warranty stays intact, as long as the correct parts and fluids are used. We document everything and can provide records if your dealer asks.
