Mitsubishi doesn't have the dealer footprint it used to, which leaves a lot of owners hunting for a shop that actually knows these cars. We do. From Outlanders and Eclipse Cross crossovers to the cars that built Mitsubishi's reputation — the Lancer Evolution — we service and tune the lineup.

The Evo is why most enthusiasts know the brand. The Evo VIII and IX run the legendary 4G63 — a 2.0L turbo four that takes serious abuse and responds to boost like few engines ever have. The Evo X switched to the aluminum 4B11T, which is lighter and just as capable once you sort its weak points. Both are full-time AWD rally cars for the street, and both need a shop that understands turbocharged all-wheel-drive drivetrains. That's our wheelhouse — it's the same platform philosophy as the Subarus that fill our lifts.

On the everyday side, the Outlander, Eclipse Cross, and Mirage are straightforward to maintain. They're economy-focused vehicles that mostly just need their fluids done on schedule. We handle the full Mitsubishi lineup, not just the fast ones.

Common Mitsubishi Services We Handle

  • Clutch replacement on Evo VIII/IX/X — these cars chew through clutches, especially when tuned
  • Timing belt service on 4G63 Evo VIII/IX (the 4B11T Evo X uses a timing chain)
  • SST dual-clutch transmission service on Evo X MR — fluid changes are critical and often skipped
  • Turbo replacement and upgraded turbo installs on 4G63 and 4B11T
  • AWD driveline service — transfer case, center differential, and rear differential fluids
  • Cooling system upgrades — Evos run hot at altitude and on track
  • CV axle and wheel bearing replacement (AWD wear, same as we see on Subarus)
  • Brake pad and rotor replacement — Brembo calipers on Evo and Ralliart models

Mitsubishi Evo Performance Tuning

The Evo is one of the most rewarding platforms to tune, and we tune both generations. For the Evo X (4B11T), Dave calibrates via EcuTek — his EcuTek Master certification covers the platform, and the 4B11T responds well to a proper tune. A bolt-on Evo X (intake, exhaust, downpipe) with an EcuTek tune typically lands around 300–330 wheel horsepower, and that's before you get into a bigger turbo or E85.

For the 4G63 Evo VIII and IX, the tuning path depends on your goals. Mild builds run well on a flashed ECU, but serious power — built motor, big turbo, E85 — is where standalone engine management earns its keep. Dave is a factory-trained AEM Infinity tuner, so we can run a full standalone setup on a built 4G63 and dial it in properly. These motors will make 400, 500, and more wheel horsepower when they're built right and tuned with respect for their limits.

Flex fuel and E85 are popular on both platforms — the cooler intake charge lets us run more timing. Every Evo tune is verified on our Mustang AWD dyno, because you can't safely dial in a full-time AWD car any other way. If you're planning a build, talk to us before you buy parts — we'll spec a combination that actually works together.

Why Bring Your Mitsubishi to Cryotune

Turbocharged AWD is what we do. The Evo and the Subaru WRX/STI are cut from the same cloth — full-time all-wheel drive, a stout turbo four, and owners who actually drive them hard. We've spent 15+ years dialing in exactly these kinds of cars, and the lessons carry directly from one platform to the other.

With Mitsubishi's shrinking dealer network, a shop that can both maintain your Outlander and tune your Evo is hard to find. We do both under one roof, with the AWD dyno to back up every performance claim and the diagnostic tools to handle the everyday stuff. Whether your Evo needs a clutch or a built motor, you get honest diagnosis and clean work.

Mitsubishi owners, we've got you.

Whether it's routine maintenance or a full build, your Mitsubishi gets the same honest diagnosis and clean work. Book a visit today.
