Hondas are some of the most sensible cars on the road, and we mean that as a compliment. The engineering is clean, parts are affordable, and these cars go forever if you maintain them. We work on every Honda model — Civic, Accord, CR-V, HR-V, Pilot, Odyssey, Fit, and Ridgeline.

One thing Honda owners should know: the timing component varies by engine. The K-series four-cylinders (K20, K24) in older Accords, CR-Vs, and Civics use a timing chain that generally lasts the life of the engine. The older J-series V6 in the Accord, Pilot, and Odyssey uses a timing belt that needs replacement at 105,000 miles. If you have a V6 Honda and you're approaching that mileage, don't put it off — this is an interference engine, and a snapped belt means bent valves and a much bigger bill.

The newer 1.5T turbocharged engine in the Civic and CR-V (L15B) has been solid overall, but we've seen oil dilution issues in colder weather — gasoline gets past the piston rings and into the oil during short trips. Honda released a software update that helps, but if your oil smells like gas, bring it in.

Common Honda Services We Handle

  • Timing belt and water pump replacement on J-series V6 (Accord, Pilot, Odyssey) at 105K miles
  • VTEC solenoid gasket replacement — oil leaks around the solenoid are common on K-series engines
  • AC compressor and condenser replacement (Honda AC systems work hard in Colorado summers)
  • Brake pad and rotor replacement — Honda rotors are thin from the factory and warp easily
  • Power steering pump replacement on older Accords and CR-Vs
  • Transmission fluid service — Honda automatics are sensitive to fluid condition
  • Catalytic converter diagnosis and replacement (theft-related replacements have been constant)
  • VTC actuator replacement on 2008-2012 Accord (that cold-start rattle)

Why Bring Your Honda to Cryotune

Hondas are straightforward cars, and that means the shop you choose matters more than you'd think. A lot of quick-lube places and chain shops will do your oil change fine, but when your Accord's VTC actuator is rattling on cold starts or your CR-V's AC is blowing warm, you need a shop that can actually diagnose the problem — not just throw parts at it.

We stock common Honda filters and fluids, use Honda-spec transmission fluid (not generic ATF — Honda transmissions don't like it), and have the diagnostic equipment to pull Honda-specific codes. We'll also tell you when a repair isn't worth it. A 2009 Civic with 180K miles and a failing AC compressor? We'll give you the repair cost and an honest opinion on whether it makes financial sense.

Honda owners, we've got you.

Whether it's routine maintenance or a full build, your Honda gets the same honest diagnosis and clean work. Book a visit today.
