Toyotas are built to last — that's not a slogan, it's something we see on our lifts every day. We service Camrys with 250K+ miles that are still running on the original engine. But "reliable" doesn't mean "maintenance-free." Every Toyota still needs oil changes, brake work, and scheduled service to hit those high mileage numbers.

We work on the full Toyota lineup: Camry, Corolla, RAV4, 4Runner, Tacoma, Tundra, Highlander, and the GR Supra. Each model has its own set of things we watch for. Tacoma owners in Colorado should be aware of frame corrosion — Toyota issued a recall and frame replacement program for 2005-2010 models, but we still see rust on newer trucks, especially if you drive mountain roads that get salted in winter. 4Runners are tanks, but the 1GR-FE V6 needs its timing belt done at 90,000 miles, and the rear differential fluid should be changed more often than the manual suggests if you're towing or going off-road.

For Camry and Corolla owners, these cars are straightforward to maintain. The 2AR-FE four-cylinder is one of the most reliable engines Toyota has made. Keep up with oil changes and you'll get 200K+ out of it without breaking a sweat.

The MK5 GR Supra uses a BMW B58 inline-six — a seriously capable engine that responds well to tuning. Dave tunes the Supra via EcuTek, and the results are impressive. A stock Supra with just a tune picks up 40-50 wheel horsepower. Add a downpipe, intake, and intercooler and you're looking at 420-450 wheel horsepower on pump gas.

We can also tune the GR Supra on our Mustang AWD dyno to verify power numbers and make sure the car is running right across the entire RPM range. If you're running E85 or a bigger turbo, dyno tuning is the way to go — you want to see what the engine is doing under real load, not just reading numbers off a screen.

We've been servicing Toyotas since the shop opened. The platform is straightforward to work on, parts are affordable, and the engineering is solid.
